Worship, Study, and Service
The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM), the youth wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, has a active and vibrant unit in our parish known as the Mar Dionysius Memorial Youth Movement (MDMYM). Founded in 1997, our unit is named in honor of our parish's esteemed founder, Metropolitan His Grace Thoma Mar Dionysius (Mount Thabor Diara, Pathanapuram).
MDMYM contributes to the spiritual enrichment, community progress, and social empowerment of the youth through a dedicated commitment to the three-fold path of OCYM:
Worship
Nurturing sacramental life, active altar service, leading liturgical choir, and organizing regular prayer fellowships.
Study
Engaging in Bible studies, discussions on Orthodox theology, Christian ethics, and addressing contemporary issues facing today's youth.
Service
Leading charitable endeavors, environmental campaigns, relief work, medical camps, and supporting local parish development projects.
Key Initiatives & Activities
Our youth movement spearheads several parish activities including:
- Youth Retreats: Directing spiritual rejuvenation camps and seminars.
- Charity Drives: Coordinating food kit distributions, medical aids, and blood donations.
- Media & Tech: Maintaining the church website, live broadcasts, and audio-visual setups.
- Cultural & Sports: Organizing annual sports meets, church festivals, and youth discussions.
