Spiritual Fellowship & Family Gathering

The Parish Prayer Group represents the heartbeat of our spiritual fellowship. Formed under the spiritual guidance of the Akhila Malankara Prayer Group Association, our local unit plays an essential role in nurturing the prayer life, scripture readings, and Orthodox tradition among the families of St. George Orthodox Syrian Church, Thiruvanvandoor (Kochupally).

The core objective of the prayer group is to strengthen the faith, foster brotherly love, encourage intercessory prayer, and bring about the spiritual and social upliftment of our community.

Weekly Order of Prayer

Our typical weekly cottage prayer meeting is structured to encourage active participation from everyone, including children and elders:

• Sandhya Namaskaram: Recital of canonical evening prayers.
• Scripture Reading: Devotional reading of the Holy Gospel and Epistles.
• Spiritual Message: A sermon/reflection led by the Vicar or senior members.
• Intercessory Prayers: Dedicated prayers for the sick, the parish, and global peace.

Ward Divisions

To maintain close relationships, the parish is divided into distinct geographic wards. Each ward acts as an extended family, ensuring that no member feels isolated and that mutual aid is readily coordinated in times of joy or difficulty.
