The Seven Holy Mysterion

In the Eastern Orthodox tradition, sacraments are visible signs through which the invisible grace of the Holy Spirit is imparted to the faithful. These are central to our spiritual life and parish fellowship.

1. Holy Baptism

The gateway to the Christian life. Through water and the Spirit, we are washed of sin, born anew, and incorporated into the Body of Christ. Parish members can register baptism details and request certificates online via our portal.

2. Holy Chrismation (Mooron)

The seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit. Celebrated immediately following Baptism, Chrismation anoints the newly baptized with holy Mooron, marking them as active members of the royal priesthood.

3. Holy Qurbana (Eucharist)

The Sacrament of Sacraments. We partake in the real Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, uniting us with Him and with one another. Holy Qurbana is celebrated every Sunday morning at Kochupally.

4. Holy Confession

The sacrament of reconciliation. Through repentance and confession of sins to a priest, we receive forgiveness and healing from God, restoring our full communion with the Church.

5. Priesthood (Ordination)

The ministry of service and leadership. Christ calls chosen men to shepherd His flock, preach the Gospel, and administer the Holy Sacraments. Ordinations are conducted under the authority of the Diocesan Metropolitan.

6. Holy Matrimony (Marriage)

The blessing of union. A man and a woman are crowned in a lifelong union of love, faithfulness, and spiritual companionship, reflecting the relationship between Christ and the Church.

7. Anointing of the Sick (Kanthila)

The sacrament of healing. Through anointing with blessed oil, the sick receive physical healing, comfort, and forgiveness of sins, strengthening their faith in times of trial.
